The Lord Always Wins

Hey Everybody!

Wow,  this week has been absolutely nuts! Sister Uhl and I continue to see miracles each day, and I was able to go up to Deajeon on Friday for Mission Leadership Conference to be trained by President and Sister Shin. Our mission is on the verge of accomplishing a decade old goal of baptizing two hundred people in a year- there is so much excitement right now! It's an incredible time to be here.

Sister Whiting and I got to go on a split together to go up to Deajeon for the meeting and it was incredible to talk about and see the Lords hand in each of our missions (we were in the MTC together, and had the same trainer and greenie area). It's hard to express everything I felt and learned through the conference, but at the end of it all the overwhelming conclusion I had come to was that Heavenly Father is our best friend. When we talk to Him through prayer we truly can feel it, and talk to Him like H'es right there. It's only been a week since receiving this calling, but I've felt a greater capacity to love and desire to serve than ever before in my life. When we look to the Lord, and look at others through His eyes, we can have a perfect hope for His plan in all things.

We are almost done teaching our favorite grandma 이강남 Gangnam Lee all the lessons and we are praying and fasting to set a baptismal date for her on December 20th! Please join us in prayer for her, we know the Christmas season is the best time for miracles!!!

We are also teaching two girls, SangMi and AeHyun who are just incredible but sometimes hard to consistently meet with. When we are able to teach them the spirit is so strong and their hearts are so ready for the gospel, the spirit feels so much like when I first started meeting the missionaries. Please remember them in your prayers, and I will continue to keep you updated!! :)

One of the pictures from this week comes from a woman I met at a bus stop who got in contact with us, she took us out to the most amazing dinner and although she wasn't personally interested in the gospel her son ended up being a less active and he came to dinner with us too! We meet less actives on the street here almost every week y'all. It's incredible and a miracle that the Lord leads us to them, but it is hard to see so many people who once loved the Lord wandering through life. Please pray for them as well! So many people to pray for! Don't forget yourselves! The Lord loves you too!

We have Stake Conference next weekend and will be singing as a big choir of missionaries! The spirit when we all get together and sing is just amazing! We were all standing during practice on Sunday and I just got an overwhelming feeling of how incredible it is that we are all standing together as the Lords missionaries in such a far away country singing a language so inherently foreign to us but having the love of the Lord in our hearts enabling us to communicate with the Korean people. It's just something that would never be possible without the Lords unending influence.

Also, our bestest little friend who we've been teaching since sister Uhl got here, Dauen, is getting baptized on Friday! We call her every night for five minutes to practice English and teach her about once a week, and her birthday is on Friday so she's getting baptized that night before Stake conference :) Will send pictures next week!

I love you all so much! It's not very thanksgiving here in Korea butttt I have lots of yummy thanksgiving things to eat so don;t worry I'll be celebrating! I'll be praying for y'alls safety as you travel. I want you to know how thankful I am for each and every single one of you. For my family and friends and the support you give. I'm thankful for Christ and how much He has blessed me and every single person I love. Have the best week ever! I love you!

love,
Sister Weston

It's A Big Small World

Hey everybody!

Man, everywhere we go, everyday, the Lord proves to us that He holds the world in his hands and guides each one of us. This week has been a lot about family-- and it's seriously been the best.

On Saturday we finally got to visit a less active family who we've been in contacts with and leaving little gift for since I first got here!!!!! We were walking on the street a few nights back and a car honked at us, and pulled over, and of course we recognized who they were right away and they invited us over for dinner! :)

The mom and three daughters were baptized in Virginia a few years ago and loveeeee the church but haven't been coming because their lives in Korea have become so busy, and their dad was never baptized. The three girls are absolutely amazing and they came with us to bake cookies with our investigators at the church after dinner!! It was sooo much fun! Best part was, their dad drove us so we got to meet him! and they took home all the leftover dough after... haha Koreans don't get to eat cookie dough much.

Gangnam Lee also let us meet her husband, and he wants us to call him dad! He considers us his foreigner daughters, haha also so cute! Also, she let us help her make Kimchi with her this week! It's Kimchi making season! If you think of it, please continue to pray for her :) She told us this week that she knows she could not have come so far in overcoming hardships had she not started to believe in God just that short time ago. She really has completely changed her life, just doesn't feel ready for baptism quite yet. We are hoping to meet the rest of her family and gain their support :) Man, we love her so much!!

Then, last night we got to go over to our relief society presidents house and have family home evening. We watched the Mormon message about Standing Alone, and standing strong even when it seems no one else is standing beside us. And we all got to share an experience about it, and then play apple to apples!! It really felt a lot like game night at the Goltz house :)

AND THEN!!! Our Elders met a girl from West Bloomfield on the street and we were able to get lunch with her! Her name is Lauren and She's Jewish but is super interested in reading all religious texts :) AND THENNNNNN! Last night coming home, I saw a foreigner get on the bus and as she was walking by said "hey, if you don't mind me asking where are y'all from?" and she said "did you just say y'all?" and sat right down next to me haha. Turns out she's from mobile, teaching English here, loves it, and wants to meet again!

This is something we tell people over and over, but it never ceases to be true: we are all children of God and He loves each one of us. I feel so strongly that so many people I was meant to meet are here in Korea and the spirit confirms it to me each day. The gospel was made for families. We see it everyday bring people together in a way that is just not possible otherwise.

I love you all so much! thinking of and praying for you always!

I'll try to let you know ASAP what's up with transfers :) Until then, stay classy and have a good thanksgiving whenever that is!

Love,
Sister Weston

picture explaination
1: bet you didn't know sometimes making kimchi starts in the bathroom of a grandmas house washing radishes. it does!

2: excercise machines in korea! they are everywhere- oh man! crazy story real fast. At this park there's a grandpa that we know that we see alllll the time. He listens to a gospel message sometimes but isn't super interested. Anyways, one of his friends wanted to buy us a hot coco kind of drink but the machine wasn't working. so our grandpa friend comes over, is working on the thinking and hitting it for like five minutes, then puts in a new dollar kicks the machine and it starts working! he's so happy he HEADBUTTED ME! hahahaha it was the craziest thing ever! Sister Uhls face was priceless after and I just couldn't... I didn't know what to do. Don't worry, it didn't hurt hahaha it was just way funny. He's officially my best buddy now.

All the Colors

Hey everybody!

I hope y'all have had a wonderful week! I know sister Uhl and I sure have. To be honest, this week went by so fast I'm not even sure what to write about!!! There's really just one story I want to hsare from yesterday.

Our favorite 80 year old friend Gangnam Lee decided she wanted to ride the bus with us to church yesterday :) She was afraid to ride on her own for the first time however, so we went with her. This required us leaving church during sunday school. So we hop on the bus, get to the bus stop near her house, and she's not there! ahhhh! and she's not answering her phone AHHHHH!!! I kept trying to call her, and Sister Uhl started talking to a man wearing a bright purple shirt waiting at the bus stop in the process.

Well the man ended up accepting the Book of Mormon, and when he came over to introduce himself to me, I asked if he wanted to come to church with us and he said YES! okay! And just then, Gangnam Lee comes walking down the path wearing a brand new skirt! It just could not have been more of a perfect accident- which grew both Sister Uhl and my testimony that there really is no such thing as accidents- just the Lords time and will.

So we ended up taking a taxi to get to church on time, enjoying all the colors of the trees along the way, and all during sacrament we enjoyed looking at a bright purple shirt listening intently as the elders and members spoke. It was just the most beautiful thing.

Choong chang area is seriously amazing. We had the best halloween party ever this past week and our members and just the best people you'd ever want to spend time with- WE LOVE THEM SO MUCH! The Lord is acting on and preparing so many miracles, as we've seen here. All He asks for is our hope.

I love y'all so much! Sending pictures now from last week and this week!

Earnest

Hey Everybody!

This week went by so fast, I can hardly believe it. I think Korea is starting to feel like real life. For a while it didn't quite seem like reality but now it feels normal and time is flying by. We are on the downhill! EEEEP!

Wow y'all... there was so much a learned this week. And one this I especially wanted to share with you, and that is, love is the foundation of everything.

As we meet people, we are conversing with all walks of life. But we all have the same basic needs and goals: to be loved, to be happy, and to be uplifted by the savior. At the end of the day, as we have heard from our good friend George Watson, and again yesterday by our Stake President here in Korea, the ultimate end of all our work is seeing the people we meet go to the temple.

I've learned more than anything, the it's the unselfish love of the savior that invites to good spirit only the Lord can give, that helps people respond to our message in a way that they desire to act upon it.

Yuna will be recieving the gift of the holy ghost this week, one of our cute little members did yesterday, and our lovely grandma Lee Gangnam is on her way there so Sister Uhl and I have been studying the gift and roles of the Holy Ghost a lot lately. While studying and chatting one day a footnote told us to look up Earnest in the Bible Dictionary, super strange but we went for it. And it was the most interseting thing.. it basically tells us that the Holy Ghost is a gift from God that gives us a foretaste of what the Celestial Kingdom, Heaven, will be like.

We've all been in those moments that just feel like Heaven on earth, like everything is good and we don't want it to end. Especially when those experiences are tied to something spiritual they can be really powerful- and that's what God wants us to feel and recognize and desire to have always. The gift of the Holy Ghost is His investment in us. And when we help people feel that way for just a moment, especially through loving them, they desire to come unto Christ. And that's just the most amazing thing.

Today was super missionary and a little sappy but I wanted to share my mind with you all, because I just love being a part of this experience more than anything ever. It's incredible- and I hope in some way you all get to feel this way when sharing your heart with others, and seeing them how God see's them.

I love you so so so so so much I can't even explain! I hope and will be praying that you have the best week!

Love,
Sister Weston

Christmas Miracles or General Conference Miracles....Same Thing

HEY EVERYBODY!

Wow, I'm so excited to be e-mailing y'all this week. I have to tell you, every single day we see miracles out here. Every single day. But this week was especially miracle filled because it was general conference for us in Korea, and that basically means Christmas for missionaries.

There's one story that I specifically wanted to share that absolutely melted my heart.

A few weeks ago Sister Oh and I were going to meet our favorite Grandma Bong Imsoon at here home when we met another grandmother on the street. Her name is Lee Gangnam. She invited us into her home right away, and sister Uhl and I ahve been visiting her about twice a week since then.

She has always had the most sweet, humble spirit. She's 79 years old and had open heart surgery in May but still wakes up at 6 every morning to walk for an hour and pick up nuts along the road. She wants to follow all the Lord commandments and this past week when we taught her about the word of wisdom and how the Lord promises us health as we keep it, she resolved right then to not drink coffee (which she lovesssss) and when we follwed up the next day, she told us about how she prayed to the Lord every meal to take away her desire to drink it. She even explained to her husband (who doesn;t like churches) why she wasn't drinking it and totally stood up for herself. She's a little spirfire and I love her!!

Anyways this weekend, because General Conference is on Saturday as well, she was able to come to the morning session without her husband knowing. She got all ready, put on the pants she made for herself, and we rode a taxi together to the church. she sat in the chapel and watched the whole two hour session, and when she came out (we watch it in a different room in english so we had to meet up after) she had the biggest smile on her face and just reached out to grab my hand and tell us how happy she was! She said it was so peaceful and amazing, she loved it!

When we walked outside, there is a tree in front of the church that has a strange fruit on it that know one knows what it is. It looks straight out of a Dr. Seuss book. She turned to me and asked me what it was, I told here I wasn't sure. And she proceeded to go and pick up all the fallen fruit and make it into a little bouquet.

She held her bouquet and looked at me and said, "when I see beautiful things, my heart just feels like a child again." You could see how filled she was with Christ's love for her after the conference. She was looking at everything like it was the most beautiful thing she had every seen. She was so joyful. The is a transformation that only happens through the pure love of Christ. And I consider it a miracle that I was able to wacth it happen.

I would love to ask y'all to continue to pray for her. That all may go well with her husband and that she will continue to feel the same love and joy that she did on Saturday. She has because so precious to my heart and I just love her!

Thanks for listening to the whole story! It's my sincere testimony that the Lord guides each of us in our lives. He loves us. Exactly where we are, He loves us. More that anything this past week I've learned that that Lord's work requires faith that allows you to jump off a cliff of unknowns, and we sometimes scream the whole way down, but if we jump it's always fun and we always land in the water.

Hope all this made sense! I love y'all and am so thankful for each and every one of you in my life. You've all played a role in making me who I am :) Have a wonderful week! Can;t wait to talk to y'all again!

All my love and prayers,

Sister Weston

P.S. Keep your eye out for miracles

Yuna

Hello Everybody!

I hope you have a really wonderful week and are drinking lots of apple cider! Koreans are really curious about what it tastes like and I always just tell them it's the best!!!! go ahead and drink a lot for me!

I've about hit my half way mark this transfer, which has caused me to reflect a lot on the miracles I've seen thus far while serving the Lord. The greatest thing that always comes to my mind is the people that I've been able to meet and grow with as I've gone throughout this experience. Each companion, is person we've taught, they in turn have so much to teach me and it's been such a blessing to begin to understand and see others as the Lord sees them.

The person I specifically want to talk to you about today is Yuna! She was baptized yesterday (sunday) after church, and so much of the ward came it was just an amazing time!!! Yuna has been through many hardships in her life, but she has always been steadfast in doing what God would have her to do. She loves the commandments! You don't hear that everyday, but that's always been her stronghold! Her heart is so pure and Sister Uhl and I know that our Heavenly Father was smiling down on her as she entered the waters of baptism yesterday :)

It was so funny when we asked her how she felt, she said she wished she could be baptized everyday! All of our members just poured their love on her, and through her smiles and tears I was able to remember once more why I am here. And that love is the most important thing in all of the work that we do. I know our Savior loves us and each person, and He is so proud of every single one of us for exactly who we are.

I love all of you so much!! I'm going to try to send actually a lot of pictures this week so I'll leave you here :) Sister Uhl and I are staying together in ChoongJang for another transfer! So excited to see the miracles the Lord has in store!!

All the Best,
Sister

Miracles for the Win

Hey Everybody!

This week was absolutely mind blowing. Some things came full circle and some new things have begun! All is exciting and all well.... let's get started...

While I was serving in Onyang, there was a family who hadn't come to church for about 10 years that we were constantly trying to visit. The Elders had been trying to work with them for about a year but the dad was never home so they couldn't stay to teach. They really encouraged us Sisters to get over there but the mom wasn't a huge fan of Sister Missionaries for whatever reason so it was difficult to see them for most of my time serving there. However, there was one day we were in a chocolate store, and we felt that maybe if we went to visit with the elders, and brought chocolate, it could open their hearts a little bit more to hearing the gospel again, and to allow their two young sons to hear it for the first time. So two weeks before I left Onyang we stopped by their house and shared some really nice chocolate and a short message with them, and were able to set up a time to do Family Home Evening every week. Even though they still seemed a little hesitant, it was a huge milestone!

The following week, my last week in Onyang, we went over to their house, their door was open and we ended up staying the evening with them playing cards and teaching about how our Heavenly Father loves us and how we can pray to him. You could see the joy on the moms face, Sister Yun, as she spent time with her family for what seemed like the first time in a long time. Her two young boys had never prayed before, but as we taught them, their mom helped us and asked her sons questions and prayed with them at the end. It was like a dream come true, and everything you ever hope for as a missionary to see a family come together like that. And it was this past weekend those two sons were able to be baptized.

I can't help but be thankful for the opportunity the Lord gave me to meet them even just a couple of times and see a huge change take place in just one night. I love that mom and seriously miss her so much. I'm also very thankful to my own mom for her example to me and because I had to use my personal card to buy the chocolate that opened her heart (thanks mom:))

The new things now just beginning, came about at mission conference this last week. Elder Choi, a Seventy, came to visit Daejeon for a mission tour! And he set some really inspired goals for us this next year... the biggest being.... drum-roll please.... baptize once a week!! It's a big step up from our previous goals as a mission, but if there's anything I've learned while being out here it's that God does not fit in a box and we should not put any limitations of dimensions on Him based on what we as people think He is capable of. We are super excited for the new doors this opens to see so many more miracles!!!! and holy cow, moving forward it's just gonna be nuts!

Thank you always for your prayers, we can feel them! It's so amazing so watch the Lord work out here and to feel his love for the Korean people. I'm so excited to go back to Onyang and get reunited with our Yun family!!!!!!! LOVE THEM SO MUCH! Ah gosh, what a miracle. Sorry y'all. It's just been a really good week! I love all of you so much and am thinking and praying for you always!

Birthdays and Things

Hey Everybody!

Wow, this week was wonderful y'all- thank you for making my birthday one of the best and craziest ever!!!

It started off in the morning with sister Uhl making me pancakes which we topped with the frosting my mom sent me (shoutout to my mom, so delicious!). Then we went with one of our members to a senior health center that they go to everday to hang out with their elderly friends and they helped us get some new contacts! It was so fun to meet a bunch of happy old people (mostly grandpa's) just loving life and picking up some new hobbies at Koreas world famous senior health center! haha There were even people there from China coming to check it out-crazy!  Then we visited our other favorite senior friend, Bong Imsoon, and sang hymns and help her accept taking the sacrament at her home 💓 She hasn't been able to take the sacrament for so long because she can't get to church but some of the young men from the ward have been organized to take it to her every sunday! so good! Then we had a lesson with Yuna :) She is having a little bit of a hard time is building a relationship with the Savior, but because she is no longer moving to Seoul we will be able to meet with her more and she is planning on getting baptized on October 4th! Again, all prayers are appreciated! :D And to finish of the night, we met an amazing new girl named JK. As she told us a little bit about her life and past experiences with missionaries the hand of the Lord was so evident, and it was very clear that meeting her was God's way of giving me a birthday miracle. She's just awesome, will write more next week!

But wait... that's actually not all. WE stopped on the way home to get Korea's yummiest chicken cups and upon returning home, there was a BIG birthday box on the table from good old Michigan :) It arrived exactly on my birthday at that's just nuts because you never know when things are going to get here. Everyone in the house loved getting some new American food! Especially cheese-itz!! So thank y'all so much :) It was the best birthday ever and even though I was far from many of you, I felt your love and the Lords and just feel blessed beyond belief.

It's cooling down this week which makes all of us very excited for fall! Korea feels so much like the midwest it's kindof scary but I love it at the same time. I've learned a lot this week about trusting in the Lord. Sometimes we try to take things on all by ourselves and we wonder why it's so hard, when we are forgetting that we have a bottomless well of support and love in Christ. I know that when we take the time to pray, really pray and listen, to align our will with his, we can recognize all the good He does for us and see that He's with us every step of the way. Sister Uhl and I had a really awesome experience just sitting down and reading from the Bible on Friday night. It was a good reminder to slow down and let God and Christ do what they do best, and just trust them. If y'all get the chance, Romans 8:28 and the final three verses in Romans 8 are a good read :)

Love y'all so much and I'm so excited to hear about all of your fall adventures! Have fun in school and know I'm praying for you!

Love,
Sister Weston

Yuna and Sunshine

Hey Everybody!

I really have about 5 minutes to write this email so It's going to be short! I just want to tell you a little bit about our friend Yuna and the amazing change we've seen in her this week.

She has been struggling with a testimony of why we need Christ, and who is is, and what he personally means to her lately. Yesterday we had our last official lesson with her before her baptism which is scheduled for next sunday, and we talked a lot about temples and enduring to the end- or living according to our beliefs throughout our life. She was so touched by the hope that her family, and future family could go to the temple together someday that when she said the closing prayer after the lesson she couldn't stop thanking God for being about to meet with the missionaries, and be baptized, and go to the temple, and help her family. She loves the plan of salvation and the hope it brings to everyone and she is coming to understand what a help and light God can be in here life.

The picture I'm sending with this is from after that lesson that we had yesterday. when we drew the sunshine on the board to represent the celestial kingdom she wanted me to put a face on it, and then she called it Yuna :) It was just super cute and I had to share it with y'all.

Heavenly Father loves every single person and it is never too late for anyone to change their life and accept the hope that Christ can give them. I know that's true and I'm so thankful to be able to experience it for myself and watch others as they do the same. I love y'all so much! and I'll be praying for each of you tons this week!

Hope you enjoy the weather as it beings to turn into fall, I know I am :) Please pray for Yuna this week, that would mean the world to us!

All my prayers and hugs!

Sister Weston

P.S. Thanks for the birthday wishes, I'll be sure to eats LOTS of Korean food for y'all!

No Coincidences

Hello Everyone!

Well, this week has been nuts. I met my new companion Sister Uhl on Thursday and y'all will literally not believe this!!

We got to Deajeon on Thursday morning and had a training meeting before meeting our greenies. They put all of our names on the board next to our greenies names, and when I saw sister Uhl's name all I could feel was this overwhelming sense of peace. I thought I should be really nervous but I wasn't. They showed me a tiny black and white picture of her and told me she was from Provo and I was like "YEAH AWESOME! let's go meet her!" Then, they let us in the room where the greenies were and everything got crazy....

I saw Sister Uhl and immediately both of our faces lit up, we ran to each other and hugged and started crying.... y'all..... I worked with her in OneStop at BYU!!! At the time I only new her as Rachel and when I saw her tiny black and white picture I couldn't recognize her but when we got face to face it all became clear. There is no way on earth it's a coincidence that we are now companions and working together in the most amazing mission in the world. The Lord truly has a plan for all of his children and he is individually aware of each one of us.

Sister Uhl is awesome! She has got to be the sweetest person on the planet. She loves soccer, and plays piano super well, loves to sing, loves to serve, and is pretty much the best companion. She reminds me a lot of Sister Millard and her sister Maddi :) Which makes me super happy! I'm excited to learn from her, work with her, and see what the Lord's will is for us the transfer.

We also performed that musical I told y'all about last week! It was so fun and the members loved it. Thank goodness sister Uhl can play the piano because she seriously pulled the whole thing together. But in a super pivotal moment when one person spun off the stage and I spun on, my knee did that thing where it collapses and it was pretty epic. Don't worry though haha the recovery was somewhat graceful and everyone seemed to enjoy it :)))

A girl that we are teaching named Yuna is currently preparing to be baptized. she has the purest spirit and we are so excited for her to start a new path in her life- but we really need y'alls prayers that she can continue to prepare well and feel the Lord's guidance and love in her life. Thank you always for your prayers I love you so much!

That's it for now! This week was wonderful and I'm so excited for this next week too! AHHH! It's crazy not having a Korean companion to turn to when you don't understand something- but I think the Lord wants me to learn to rely on Him more and it's working! I love all of you so much and I hope you have a lovely week!

All my love,
Sister Weston

P.S. If you get the chance to read Alma 26:12 I promise you won't regret it :)

Hey Everybody!

I hope y'all have had a lovely week this week! I wish I had words to explain to y'all what I'm feeling right now about everything that happened this week but I really don't! It's been incredible and humbling and I'm so excited/nervous for all that is yet to come.

So this week, in a period of about 24 hours, I was told that I needed to write a 10 minute musical, then a speech for a Korean speech competition, and then a talk to be given on Sunday with our mission president, President Shin. I for real almost died.

Luckily I have the best companion in the world and she woke up every morning with me at 6 so I would have time to write all of these things and to help me translate them throughout the day.

The musical will be performed this coming Saturday at a family home evening that the ward is hosting at church. They asked me to write it about my conversion story. So I put everything in a fairytale setting and tried to make it fun for the kids :) My district leader called me after he read it and said he cried... I'll let you know how it goes next week! haha.

Then.. the speech competition. Holy cow. It was held by a man named Robert Holly who is American, served a mission here, and is supperrrrrrrr famous in Korea! I literally was so nervous, but thankful that I was competing with some of the sisters I was in the MTC with, and so many Koreans who work so hard to learn English to be able to compete as well (the Koreans spoke in English and the Americans spoke in Korean). When all was said and done, my favorite friend from our ward, Jo Eunbi, took home the gold for the English contest and I got a free dinner for two for winning the Korean contest! Hahahaha the Lord must have performed some sort of miracle to help me win. It was so much fun and a super awesome experience for me.

Then.... Sunday.... oh man. I was so nervous y'all. Speaking with President was something else. Seriously such a huge blessing, and so humbling. Our members did an amazing job of bringing people to church and there were so many new people that came we didn't have enough missionaries to sit by them! We saw our members get so excited about missionary work and the spirit in the church when so many new people came. Although I hardly slept the night before, the talk went well and  everyone had a wonderful time hearing from President and sister Shin :) I think we will continue to see amazing things happen in our ward because of their influence. And I though after a week of speech writing and preparing and giving I could rest for a bit... but the Lord has other plans.

We got transfer calls today, and Sister Oh and I are both staying in ChoongJang (YAYYYYYYYY) but we are both getting new greenies (WHATTTTTTTTTTTTT). WE literally could not believe it. Hence why I don't know what to call this email or even what to write y'all right now. It's so humbling to think that the Lord trusts us to take care of two new sisters and this area. I have a strong feeling that for the next long while I will be learning how to rely on the Lord on a whole new level. But if there's anything that I've learned from this last week (thanks to some crazy experiences and awesome talks sent to me by Milly and Leifsy), it's that as we exercise faith, the Lord is able to do through us far more than we ever could on our own. It is because of Him that we are here. and because of Him all things are made possible.

We will meet our new sisters on Thursday! So next week we will send lots of pictures and let you know how amazing they are! :) If you could pray for their safe arrival and to calm their hearts as they start this amazing experience we would be super grateful!

Love y'all so much and am praying for you always! :)

with huge smiles and hugs,
Sister Weston

P.S. Also gave a speech in English class, haha forgot, but it was about Alabama and everyone loved it! ROLL TIDE!

Rainy Day out fit!

Hey Everyone,

There's kind of a lot of stories I wanted to share this week. As the weather begins to cool off it's much more pleasant leaving our apartment and honestly, every time we have gone outside this week, seriously every day, God leads us somewhere we didn't expect to go and amazing things happened.

I'm just going to share a few of my favorites: first, on Thursday we went to the hospital nearby our house where two of our elderly sisters are. They weren't up for a visit that day though so we left and started going to the park. Sister Oh said something about a man she saw back at the hospital who she thought looked like he wanted to talk to us, we kind of shrugged it off for a minute a walked a little more but I just had this huge pit in m stomach saying we had to go back (even though it would probably be awkward). So we did, and when we got back we talked to the man and he told us he wants his daughter to meet with us. We also ended up talking to another woman as well who wants to meet with us! THEN! On our way back to the park we ran into one of our sisters who doesn't really come to church anymore. She's been struggling a lot lately, so we sat down at a picnic table and talked and shared a message about finding strength through Christ's atonement. There was something in the way she was talking to us that made us feel like we helped her in some way. But we wouldn't have seen her at all had we not gone back to the hospital.

We also ended up getting free ice cream that day which was pretty cool!!!

Then On Saturday, we got on the bus to go visit someone. When we got on the bus, we were both toally sure we were going the right way. But it turns out, we totally weren't. But when we got off to transfer busses, we realized we were near the home of a grandma that missionaries had met some time earlier. We had tried visiting her once before but she wasn't home. We figured while we were there we could try again. When we knocked on the door her granddaughter answered, and she invited us in. We ended up talking with the two of them for about a half hour and drinking juice and sharing a message. It doesn't seem like much but it was amazing that we even ended up there and that they welcomed us into their home.

God sometimes works in funny ways. I've been learning a lot lately that our prayers are answered, most times, in ways we don't expect, but in ways that are best for us or for the people we are praying for.

I wish I could tell y'all all the things like this that are happening all the time! It's so much fun to be here and to be able to meet people and learn so much constantly.

I love y'all so much and I'm praying for you always!

Love always,

Sister Weston
